I'd like to start this post with a huge thank you to everyone who played What Friends Are For during Game Boy Showdown 2023. It was great reading everyone's responses and the feedback I received was incredibly helpful. So helpful that I decided to release a polished version of the game with the feedback in mind, What Friends Are For V2.0! The web version has been updated to V2.0, why not try playing it again? There are some new surprises if you've already played it. And if you haven't played it, click that play button already! And don't worry, the original version developed in seven days is still available to download.

Here's what has changed in V2.0:

• Collectables and a bonus level- replay the game and check them out!
  
• Friendlier levels- the level design is smoother and the game is slightly easier to complete. If you played the original, you know what I'm talking about.
• Improved performance and Game Boy Color support- the web version now runs a GBC emulator that massively improves performance, and performance on the original Game Boy should be slightly improved.
• Visual tweaks- redid a small number of visuals that I didn't have time to polish during the jam.
• Improved accessibility- the cutscenes are now easier to read.
